Guests at Villa San are spoiled for choice when it comes to ways to relax. Villa San Reflects the owners’ artistic and spiritual leanings. There’s the loft studio for painting, a telescope for star-gazing from the rooftop terrace at night, and a Buddhist stupa and yoga terrace tucked in a quiet corner of the property for group or individual meditation and yoga practice.
The spacious grounds offer freedom and flexibility for both families and groups of friends, with hammocks and sun loungers arranged around the 25 x 5m pool and a pool pavilion seating up to 15 people. Inside, as well as the living and dining spaces, there are two well-equipped entertainment rooms – one is part of the two bedroom master suite, the other adjacent the informal dining room – a gym and a children’s playroom. The villa showcases some exquisite art and handicrafts from China, Ghana and Indonesia.
Villa San comprises of six large bedrooms – three doubles and three twins. French doors from all the bedroom pavilions look out over tranquil gardens, only steps away from the long sloping lawn and the inviting pool.
A friendly, helpful team of staff are on hand around the clock, with a butler and chef available to meet every request. They are knowledgeable about local Hindu cultural activities, art galleries and the myriad options for exploring and learning about the region (guests can take a craft or cooking class, or book an in-house meditation or yoga session) and will recommend the best of local restaurants, cafés and spas.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Villa San. The villa and gardens are beautifully kept and very clean. The staff are amazing and couldn't do enough to please us. A very special thank you to Mika the manager who went out of his way to be helpful and even organized a beautiful dinner and decorations in the garden for my son-in-law's birthday. A big thank you to Adi for being so kind and amazing with the children who loved having him play with them and to Kuta who was always willing to drive us anywhere. We would definitely come back and would recommend this beautiful villa to anyone staying in Ubud as the place to be.

CORPORATE RETREAT AT VILLA SAN

This is our second time in 2 months staying at Villa San for a corporate retreat, and the bedroom configuration and public spaces makes it very conducive to holding meetings in the villa. There is a dedicated meeting room upstairs, but the seating areas were more than enough to hold meetings together and separately. It is a really conveniently located villa, a very short walk into the center of Ubud. What really stood out for us was the staff, no request was too much trouble, and the chef kept us well fed with delicious snacks during afternoon meetings and feasts for dinner, so we rarely had to venture out. Thank you to Mika, Kuta and all your staff for making us so welcome, we enjoyed it so much we are booking for a 3rd time in October.
